Install Hardwood Floors
We install red oak flooring in most of our homes, although white oak, maple, mahogany, bamboo and other species are available. Our clients can choose the width of the hardwood flooring they prefer. It is available in 2-1/4 inch, 3-1/4 inch, 4 inch and 5 inch widths, as well as other specialty widths depending on our lumber mill production and warehouse stock at the time of construction.
Hardwood floors are installed after drywall and priming to decrease the risk of damage to the floor, but are not stained or finished at that time. Once our painters have completed painting the final wall, trim and ceiling colors, our flooring trade partner will sand and stain the floors with the first stain and sealing coat.
Before you move into your home, we will apply a second coat of stain / sealer. By doing it in this sequence, we greatly reduce the risk of damage to the final floor finish during remaining construction process.
Our hardwood floor trade partners prefer Dura-Seal stains, which in 25 years of experience, they have found to be superior to other manufacturers in finish quality and longevity.
